I've Discovered and Regrettably Consumed the Smallest Clementine Slice in the World
HEAVEN IS ONLINE
I Have Ravaged You
A haikuㅤ
To be a human
Is to plead the forgiveness
Of a clementine
FOR CONTEXT:
My friends tried to convince me that if I didn’t eat the smallest clementine slice in the world, the clementine would get cancer and die. I rejected this idea. I don’t think clementine slices can do that stuff. They said he wouldn’t return to his family, and I grew silent. My eyes darting to observe all of the spaces that fell around him, but never fixed on the smallest clementine slice in the world. They spoke again. The clementine slices would fail to rediscover their own entirely, over and over, on their passages to the next and all cycles thereafter. To stagger his end meant to doom the smallest clementine slice in the world to a vicious inevitability: forever missing from his rind, unable to find home again; and with one swift motion, I made them whole once more, and ended the life of the smallest clementine in the world.
